About the Foundation

In the early days of November 2003, Crete-Monee and Concordia University lost an incredible young man in a tragic accident. Nineteen-Year-Old Drew Knipper passed away. This young man epitomized all that is good and honorable in our young adults. Drew was the sunshine when it was cloudy, the laughter when it was sad, and Drew shared unconditional love to all who knew him. Strangers and enemies were unknown to this valiant young man; his goodwill and kindness had no end.

Drew was an exceptional athlete who loved baseball and football. He exemplified the courage and strength that Crete-Monee strove for. His dedication was insurmountable and was evident in his studies, team practices, weight room workouts, his diet, and his persistent will to improve in every way. Drew touched so many of our hearts in the short life he lived here on Earth, he now is the best guardian angel for his teammates and those who knew him.

In order for Drew's legacy to continue, we have immortalized him by creating a scholarship foundation in his honor. The foundation and scholarship award embodies everything that was Drew. The scholarship is awarded each year to an individual befitting his dedication for excellence and goodness. With the support of family, friends, and the community we can ensure that Drew's spirit can live on and inspire future students to strive for admirable qualities within themselves.
